Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) Resource Page

Queens Library’s Adult Learner Program is proud to have launched several initiatives below to help adults and young adults to achieve their dreams of getting their High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. It is the mission of the Adult Learner Program to provide lifelong learning opportunities to address the needs of the diverse and changing populations of Queens through free quality educational programs and services that incorporate digital literacy, blended learning, and individualized case management services. These include Adult Basic Education, ESOL, Youth Literacy, and preparation for individuals seeking their High School Equivalency diploma. We have many educational programming to help prepare our participants for the new High School Equivalency test called the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) that replaced the GED in New York State starting in January 2014. The following HSE Resource webpage captures the various HSE initiatives that Queens Library is participating in for the benefit of our students and the many communities in Queens that we strive to serve with our adult education programming.

In partnership with NYS Education Department, Queens Library’s Adult Learner Program is proud to administer the TASC test at five test center locations:

  • Central Adult Learning Center in Jamaica
  • Flushing Adult Learning Center
  • Jeanne Elmezzi Adult Learning Center in Long Island City
  • Peninsula Adult Learning Center in Far Rockaway
  • Rochdale Village Adult Learning Center

We administer ONLY computer-based testing of the full battery of tests in two day test sessions at the five test centers above. If you would prefer to take the paper-based test, please click on the link below to view TASC testing centers in New York City that offer paper-based: TASC New York City Paper-Based.
