Children typically begin Kick-off to Kindergarten at ages 3 – 4. K2K is held at 12 community library sites, and runs for eight consecutive weekly sessions. Enrolled parents and students must attend every session. To prepare children for kindergarten, K2K classes emphasize knowledge of letters and numbers, as well as promoting at-home literacy and conflict analysis strategies for parents. Classes are run by teaching professional and teaching assistant. To register, please contact any participating library. Registration is on a first-come, first served basis. Space is limited.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK)
Children that are 4 Years Old

Universal Pre-Kindergarten is open to children when they become 4 years old by December 31 of the school year in which they are enrolled in the program. UPK gives children the foundations they need to succeed academically and socially once they begin elementary school. Classes are run by highly qualified teaching professionals, and free nutritious lunches and snacks are provided. Queens Library's UPK* has been rated in the Top 10% of UPK programs in NYC by the WNYC Schoolbook. Click here to learn more about UPK.
