Writing and Literary Programs

Queens Library offers and hosts many programs with the goals of improving literacy and promoting literature for adults and children in Queens.  Visit any of our community libraries for more information on programs, events and materials.

Author talks and discussions are frequently held at various community libraries.   Attend to meet and talk with a published author.

Book discussion groups are available for any one that want to discuss the latest best sellers, the classics or poetry.

Queens Library hosts open mic nights for those that want to share their literary work.  Attend and listen to aspiring local poets, writers and spoken word performers.

Whether it's writing workshops or writing clubs, Queens Library has various programs to help aspiring writers both young and old.

Self Publishig with Self-e
Queens Library now offers a self publishing solution, Biblioboard's Self-e. Your book will automatically be made available to New York State residents as an e-book on Biblioboards, and select books will be published nationally or promoted by Queens Library through author events at local branches.
