Welcome to the Queens Library’s Young Adult Literacy Program

The Young Adult Literacy Program (YALP) offers educational assistance to young adults 16 – 24 years old. YALP offers participants the opportunity to study for the High School Equivalency exam and provides additional resources such as case management, job readiness workshops and internships.

You must be a young adult (ages 16 – 24) and you must register for the program during the Registration Period. In addition to HSE preparation, YALP offers free Metrocards, stipends and field trips for students. Remember that all participants must have proof of age.
