Young Adult Literacy Program: Pre-Register Now!

Are you interested in getting your High School Equivalency, but not sure where to start?

The Young Adult Literacy Program (YALP) is here to help!

This program is open to students ages 16–24, and offers four days of classes per week, as well as one day of service learning and job shadowing to help build your résumé.

When you complete YALP, you’ll be able to take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to determine your eligibility for High School Equivalency.

Classes will be held at Central Library in Jamaica, Astoria Community Library, and the Far Rockaway Swing Space at 10-03 Beach 20th Street.

Participants must commit to attending all classes, case management sessions, and job shadowing/internship sessions.

The Fall 2017 program begins October 2; you can enroll now until Friday, October 20.

We hope you will take advantage of this great educational opportunity!

Note: Pre-registering does not guarantee a seat in the program. You will be notified by email or phone about the next steps in the registration process.
